Nationally touring singer-songwriter Dennis Warner makes his first appearance at the new Lake City Arts Center with a concert Saturday September 21st at 7pm. Warner has toured all 50 states and beyond, released 10 CD’s, authored Beads on One String and performed in concert at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. His breakthrough album “Seeds” was named one of the top CD’s of 2012 in folk music, based on radio play around the world. Folk DJ also named him one of the top touring folk artists of that year. Midnight Special host Rich Warren designated Seeds as his “CD Pick of the Week” on his nationally syndicated radio show. 2018 was a big year for Dennis. He was invited to the RoundGlass Music Awards in New York City, celebrating “Enlightened musicians from around the globe who create music to make the world a better place.” He was also honored to perform for the Parliament of the World’s Religions in Toronto, where 7,500 attendees, representing 230 different faiths from around the planet, gathered finding ways to coexist in our diverse world. Warner is a two-time McKnight Foundation Artist Award winner and three-time finalist for the prestigious Kerrville Folkfest songwriting awards, co-founded by Peter Yarrow of Peter, Paul and Mary. He has been a guest on numerous TV and radio programs, including many nationally syndicated radio shows such as “Midnight Special” (Chicago), “River City Folk” (Omaha/Portland) and “Radio Unnameable” (New York City). His Beads on One String book, now in its Sixth Printing, celebrates our “connectedness” and features a bully prevention curriculum for elementary schools that is used throughout the U.S. and internationally as well. Several schools in southeastern Minnesota have successfully used “Beads” as part of their curriculum. Dennis is excited to return to the Lake Pepin area saying, “I’ve always enjoyed performing in this beautiful part of Minnesota. Several years ago, I even bought a sailboat and sailed on Lake Pepin. I love the city and the great people there.” Warner is noted for being an entertainer, bringing the audience into the performance with laughter and participation. He will also debut new music from his forthcoming 11th album. This concert is also part of the Grand Opening celebration week at the new Lake City Arts Center. Come join us!
