In the old days there were those who were the hunters, slaying wild game to provide meat for the family, and those who were the gatherers, reaping the harvest and collecting berries. The hunters will be out on this, the opening day of deer season, and the gatherers are welcome to explore the Lake City shops and restaurants, filling packages with many delights as they browse the specialty shops and dine in the wonderful variety of restauants. This celebration has a harvest and Thanksgiving feel. It will be a day to shop and have fun and a day to share. Each participating business will offer a special discount on an item or a free gift or other delight in exchange for a donation of a shelf stable Thanksgiving menu item or a cash/check donation to the Lake City Food Shelf for a like amount.
