Hazelnut Field Day at the Hazelnut Valley Farm on W. Lakewood

The Sixth Annual Hazelnut Field Day will include introductory information about hazelnut growing and propagation, harvesting, and processing. It also includes field walk & talk sessions and tours of the root cellar and greenhouse.

Lake City was designated the Hazelnut Capital of Minnesota in the 2010 Legislative session. This is one of the largest hazelnut orchards in MN and it is entirely within the city limits of Lake City.

Hazelnut oil from MN Grown hazelnuts and hazelnut oil from a half dozen other sources will be available for a taste test. Come taste the difference!!


There will be a pot luck lunch from 12 to 1 so bring a dish and table service if you with to join in. Beverages will be provided. A competition for best hazelnut treat will also take place during lunch.
