Lake City’s spring art festival will have a new face this year!
Lake City Area Arts started with a small group of people who organized the Washington Street Art Festival each year. Back in 2014, this group founded Lake City Area Arts as a non-profit corporation and continued its work on the arts festival.
Now that we have an art center, the festival will be located near the center on Franklin Street, between Lyon Avenue and Chestnut Street instead of on Washington Street.
Live music is being arranged by Eric Stashek, with Lake City youth musicians performing throughout the day on the porch of the arts center. Feel free to bring a chair and stay a while!
The Show and Share painting club is hosting a free youth/family art “make and take” project inside the art center during the day.
We are still taking applications from artists and artisans who would like to display and sell their wares. Participating art can include fabric creations, painting, sculpture, and a wide range of hand crafted creations. Interested persons should email lakecityareaarts@gmail.com to request an application.
