Beginning Geneology

Have you always wanted to trace your roots and learn more about your ancestors? Join us for this introduction to family history research. We will talk about the basics of research, what records may be found online and in archives, and how to stay organized. We will also explore a number of free and subscription websites. Handouts will be provided. Vicki Albu, a life long resident of Dakota County and active member of the Dakota County Genealogical Society, will instruct this course at the Goodhue County History Center. Vicki co-founded the Romanian Genealogy Society and works as an avid genealogist and historian. Her work includes a number of oral history and research projects.
