Songs of Hope, based in St. Paul, Minnesota, brings over 50 youth age 10-22 from more than 13 countries to the First Congregational Church, UCC, in Lake City, to offer a 90 minute, high-energy performance of singing and dancing accompanied by a five-piece band of Twin Cities musicians. Music includes U.S. rock and roll, Turkish pop, and traditional songs from various countries, complete with costume changes and traditional dances. The 2015 tour offers a special tribute to the music of New Orleans to commemorate the tenth anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. The concert is Thursday, July 16, at 7:30 p.m. Doors open at 6:45 p.m. and admission is free.
